Biography
The Photographer working under Ray Deflector is Adele Rycroft. Rycroft uses visual storytelling to explore concepts of fantasy and surrealism within portraiture. Inspired by her groundings and rural isolation, she approaches photography using natural light to create images reminiscent of fairytales. Rural isolation encouraged Adele to explore her surroundings and investigate the small things in life, leading her to capture them through Macro photography. She also works with studio light to create stills for products and small setups of still life, which is used to express herself.
Adele first picked up a camera and started experimenting in year two of her University degree. Photography became her means of escape from reality. Allowing her to create scenes using costuming that resemble book characters from her childhood. Allowing Adele to dive into escapism. She often finds that her best work is produced when she lets her own creativity take over, allowing her to create meaningful pieces using simple composition and lighting while relying on her natural eye and instinct.
